Veerashiva Reddy's outbursts irk party

HYDERABAD: The frequent outbursts of Congress MLA from Kamalapuram G.Veerashiva Reddy against induction of Praja Rajyam MLC C. Ramachandraiah has attracted adverse attention of the party leadership.
Unhappy over his utterances, APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana telephoned Mr. Reddy on Friday and advised him to observe restraint.
Mr. Satyanarayana broached the subject with Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy during a meeting when he is believed to have the MLA's open opposition to the PR leader's induction was unfortunate since the Chief Minister had appealed to the Kadapa Congress leaders not to rake up the issue as the cabinet reshuffle would take some more time.
A little while after the PCC president's advice, Mr. Veerashiva Reddy told reporters that there was no use making Mr. Ramachandraiah as a Minister. Talking to reporters, the Congress MLA initially said during his meeting with the Chief Minister on Thursday, the issue of induction of Mr. Ramachandraiah into the cabinet had not cropped up.
But, after persistent questions, he launched a broadside against the PR leader saying that only those, who are directly elected to the Assembly should be considered for the Ministerial berth. Party sources said Mr. Satyanarayana also spoke to Mr. Ramachandraiah and urged him not to talk about the proposed cabinet reshuffle and induction of PR legislators into the council of Ministers.
Meanwhile, the PCC chief and the Chief Minister decided to hold district-wise review meetings with the party leaders, Ministers, legislators and key party functionaries from next week. The idea is to take a thorough look at the party's position in each district, in wake of reports and migration of party men into the YSR Congress party.
