YSR Congress supporters being targeted: Nellore ZP chief

NELLORE: Leaders of YSR Congress party alleged that the government was targeting the legislators and other leaders who are supporting the new party. The ruling party representatives were not releasing funds to our constituencies and stopped releasing bills, said Zilla Parishad Chairman Kakani Goverdhan Reddy.
Addressing the newsmen here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy, who is the district convenor of YSR Congress party, said the ruling party MLAs were bringing pressure on the officials and were asking them not to release funds for the panchayats and mandals located in our areas. The Ministers and MLAs were not only harassing the YSR Congress party leaders, but were hampering the development works putting general public to inconvenience, he alleged. Criticizing the government for making district in-charge minister's signature mandatory for release of funds for various works and sanction of bills, Mr. Reddy said the Collector should intervene into the matter.
Udayagiri MLA Mekapati Chandrashekara Reddy said the recent comments of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, asking the heads of various departments not to release funds for the segments represented by the MLAs who were supporting Mr. Jagan, shows the harassment of the government towards YSR Congress party leaders.
