YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is said to be not
very much enthusiastic about the joining of yesteryear’s superstar
Krishna and his actress-director wife Vijaya Nirmala, along with her son
Naresh in his party.
Though Jagan welcomed them into the party, he is not very jubilant
with their entry as they would anyway not add any strength to the party.
However, Jagan has other ideas. According to YSR Congress party
sources, Jagan is of the view that if Krishna and Vijayanirmala join his
party, their younger son Mahesh Babu would also follow suit very soon.
All said and done, Mahesh Babu has a lot of fan following and if he
joins YSR Congress, it would fetch a lot of attraction to the party.
Even if Mahesh Babu is not willing to enter politics at this stage,
he can at least extend support to him and campaign for the party in the
elections, whenever they are held.
In fact, before 2009 elections, Jagan’s father late Y S Rajasekhara
Reddy had personally requested Mahesh Babu to canvass for the Congress,
at least for a few days in sensitive constituencies, so that it would
cheer up the Congress workers and improve the Congress chances of
winning. Somehow, Mahesh Babu could not make it due to work pressure.
