Kiran, Botcha deny differences

ALL IS WELL:Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas S. Jaipal Reddy (left) blessing new APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana in the presence of outgoing party chief D. Srinivas, AICC secretary K.V. Krishnamurthy and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Denying that there were any differences between them, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Botcha Satyanarayana asserted that their young team was all fired up to take on the opposition parties and score a hat-trick of victories in the 2014 elections.
Coinciding with Mr. Satyanarayana taking over as the APCC chief on Saturday, Congress leaders promised to reward the party cadre and protect their interests. At an impressive programme organised at Gandhi Bhavan, seniors welcomed the transformation of leadership with a ‘young team' occupying crucial positions. They hoped that the youthful team would revive party's fortunes at the crucial juncture and cheer up the demoralised cadres.
YSR ignored
The occasion saw leaders virtually ignoring former Chief Minister late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy barring a few words of praise for his contribution. Instead, leaders made a vociferous demand to launch an offensive against rebel legislators, who were acting as ‘coverts' of YSR Congress Party.
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy while terming the differences between him and Mr. Satyanarayana as ‘media creation' said: “There is no scope for differences today, tomorrow and in future. We are all one family and with united efforts, we will romp home in 2014 with 41 Lok Sabha seats.”
He said those holding the posts of Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Deputy Chief Minister and APCC chief had never aspired for it but were rewarded by AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
Equating his team to Twenty20 cricket team led by M. S. Dhoni, he said: “Ours is the winning team of 2014. We are all attacking players and will not allow the opposition to breathe,” he remarked.
Acknowledging the contribution of the party cadre, he said all the vacant posts including the market and temple committees would be filled shortly. Mr. Satyanarayana said reports of differences were false. “With collective decisions and perfect rapport, the Congress and the government will work to fulfil the aspirations of people and cadres,” he said.
The PCC chief said he would not take independent decisions and left the sensitive issues to be tackled by the central leadership.
He promised to involve the party workers in decision making.
