VIJAYAWADA: Those who take an active part in the YSR Congress party membership drive will be invited for the first plenary meeting to be held at Idupulapaya on July 8 to mark the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, party's Krishna district ad hoc committee convenor Samineni Udayabhanu said.
At a meeting held to launch the party membership drive at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here, Mr. Udayabhanu said Krishna district had been given the target of enrolling six lakh members.
Party official spokesperson Vasireddi Padma asked the party sympathisers to expose the secret alliance between the Congress and the Telugu Desam parties.
Vijayawada city party ad hoc convenor and former MLA Jaleel Khan who presiding said the party activists along with farmers would lay siege to the District Collector's Office at Machilipatnam to high light the problems of the farmers on June 13.
YSR Congress Krishna district election observer Raavi Venkataramana said the fee for ordinary membership had been fixed at Rs. 10 and active membership at Rs. 100.
Former MLAs Meka Prathap Appa Rao, Ratna Bose, Jestha Ramesh Babu, Mayor Tadi Sakuntala, former corporators P.Gowtham Reddy, Jaana Reddy, and A.Srinivas were present.
