All these days, the Congress MLAs and MPs supporting YSR Congress
party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy have been avoiding being
disqualified on the ground that they have only been supporting his fight
for the issues concerning people.
Now it was all proved bluff on Friday. As many as 20 MLAs, two MPs
and 5 MLCs belonging to the Congress party attended the first plenary of
the YSR Congress party, clearly indicating that they are not going to
stay in the Congress party. Not only did they attend the plenary, they
also took a pledge administered by Jagan, stating that they would all
abide by the policies and programmes of the YSR Congress party and would
work for the strengthening and victory of the new party.
Among those who attended the plenary were: Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari,
Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, MLAs M Chandrasekhara Reddy, Konda
Surekha, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Shobha
Nagi Reddy, Kunja Satyavathi, Amarnath Reddy, Srikanth Reddy, Gurunath
Reddy, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy etc.
Apart from the MLAs, even defunct NTR-Telugu Desam Party president
Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi also attended the plenary and took pledge to
work for the YSR Congress, indicating that she had either merged her
party with YSR Congress or deserted it to join the new party.
